Junk Saves The Day

Late last night Mother was complaining that we had no hot water. Turns out the water heater thermocouple failed. There happened to be one in the plumbing junk drawer and she had hot water for her morning shower. About once every 10 years or so it pays to be keeping all this junk around

Laptop Repaired

My laptop trackpad has been flakey lately and since my Apple care warranty was about to run out, I took it into the Apple store last week. Hard to believe I've had it for three years already. They opened it up and found it chock full of long cat hair . It also looked like perhaps the battery swelled a bit and was pushing up on the trackpad, so they replaced the battery/top case. That didn't work so they tried another. That didn't work so the sent it back to the Houston depot where they replaced the logic board, airport card, and another top case. Seems to be working fine now, but it did take a week. A $575 repair that was covered by warranty. Click Here to Read More...
